Who We Are

MITRE operates the National Cybersecurity FFRDC—sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology—to help organizations address their most pressing cybersecurity needs.

MITRE works with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to address the serious and growing risk that cybersecurity vulnerabilities pose to economic prosperity, public safety, and national security.

We operate the NIST-sponsored National Cybersecurity FFRDC (NCF) and support the success of the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE)—a state-of-the-art collaborative hub where industry, government, and academia come together to build practical cybersecurity solutions that can be rapidly applied to the real challenges that businesses face each day.

Cybersecurity Is a Core Capability at MITRE

For a half century, MITRE has worked as a strategic partner to federal agencies to solve hard problems in cybersecurity. We draw on this unique vantage point to operate the NCF and engage in strategic partnerships nationwide to share and exchange information, gain insights, and collaborate to develop leading-edge solutions.

NCF Mission
